The Good Soul painting by Artist Greg Craola American Cancer Society Auction

From Gallery1988

A few weeks back we had a Skate Deck and Print Release for artist Greg "Craola" Simkins here at G1988: LA, and Greg live painted for a few hours. He went home, finished the piece, and created "The Good Soul," a 24 x 36 inch beauty, that is now being auctioned by Greg and Gallery1988, with every penny being donated to the American Cancer Society (in the memory of my late father, and huge Greg Simkins fan, Lawrence Karp).

This piece really is awesome, and the results of Greg's real only live painting session ever. If you want to stop by the LA gallery and see it in person, feel free. It's here.

And you can bid on it here:

More new Josh Keyes paintings for - “Natural Selection” @ Swarm Gallery

I found a couple more images from Josh Keyes‘ upcoming show to share with you since the first preview article. Opening along with Vaughn Bell in a show entitled “Natural Selection” at the Swarm Gallery this Friday (Aug 7th), Josh should only have four pieces. Keyes’ fans will treat this as an appetizer to his big show at Jonathan Levine coming up in Dec/Jan in New York.

Be sure to click the image to see them in their huge glory.

Preview: Sam Flores @ Subliminal Projects

In his show Ego, Addiction and Other Bedtime Stories, opening May 2nd at Subliminal Projects, Sam Flores tackles what is perhaps one of the most pervasive themes in human existence: the struggle between light and dark. Through color and contrast, Flores addresses those parts of our selves that seek to hide behind the protective mask of acceptance while our inner demons claw at us from the inside. “There is a constant war being waged in the fight for balance,” says Flores, “to determine which side of us, good or bad, will win out in any given moment.” Yet despite the eternal conflict, Flores never hesitates to remind us of the potential for beauty to shine through—even in our darkest hours.
