just as a quick note, i stopped into Dieselfuel in portland OR, creation point for a few of my larger past art prints, on my way home from seattle and Flatstock, to work on a print today with ben and andy. im not 100% on the title yet, as im still sort of toying with the mythology of whats going on in my head. the intention is to do a rather small edition of this image and hand brush the sky before the line art goes down and touch up highlights and washes and make each one unique in some way, so the final image should look pretty different than what youre seeing above. how far this will go, im not sure, but weve got all day to see. i finished this up late late last night around 4am so im more or less running on fumes today, as i have been for weeks and weeks honestly. thanks life… UNFORTUNATELY, i dont have my proper camera with me today, so photos will be sort of minimal but i DO have my tiny video camera so ill try to get a sort of “process video” if i can.

New Daniel Danger The Decemberists poster

The decemberists is 14×24″ and is a 4 color screenprint, his take on ‘hazards of love 4 (the drowned)’, specifically “Margaret arrayed the rocks around the hull before it was sinking, A million stones, a million bones, a million holes within the chinking.”

Daniel been really busy so as soon as he gets some free time he will put them up for sale, I will let you know when that day happens.

the first of three new prints ive been working on this past week. this is the tour print for andrew birds European tour; and he just plain loved it so theyre ordering a ton to sell at the shows. if you havent heard him, check him out. i discovered him a few years back while i was on tour playing guitar with the band pyramids. the pressing plant was supposed to drop ship our LPs to us while on the road, and when we opened the boxes there was on box of our album and every other box was andrew birds ‘mysterious production of eggs’. given it had jay ryan artwork on the cover, i gave him a call and told him if andrew was looking for his records, we had em. anyways, i stole one and it became one of my favorite albums that year. when i met andrew a few years later, i attempted to retell this story and frankly just came across as a bumbling weirdo who may or may not have stolen a few boxes of his record.

'lock and key or latchkey, a house you tricked empty: the other daughters of edward darley boit’, ‘you push and pull like wolves at the door and all i hear is humming’, and ‘i didnt hear you arrive, i didnt hear you leave’
theres only between 25-50 copies of most of the prints available through the store, so jump on it if youre interested. as well, a couple fun varients in tiny editions. so check out the rest of the new work on the site in the 'art prints' section.
