Band of Horses @ Outside Lands

Promotional design for Band of Horses playing at this year's Outside Lands festival in San Francisco.  It's not your usual festival or gig poster -- its almost as an elegant book cover or something you might find in a beautiful antiques shop.  Design credits unknown -- if anyone can provide a tip off to the artist we'd very much appreciate it!

Hatch Show Print - American Artifact

An amazing letterpress poster by Hatch Show Print, an infamous shop that has been cranking out carved wooden type on paper since the 1950's in Nashville.  You can check out just how old-school their printmaking process is on their clip on the American Artifact website.  If you can, check out the trailer and see if they're screening in your area, because its a pretty cool documentary on the traditional and non-digital craft of making flyers and posters.

Livia Foldes

Some very crisp, very clean posters designed by Livia Foldes. Her eye for layout and typography is amazing, and is able to say so much, so interestingly, with so little.

EDIT: Livia Foldes worked with the MINE team in San Francisco to turn out the beauftiful Mill Valley Film Festival poster below.

LovEvolution 2009

Like many other rave/festival flyers, this SF Lovefest flyer is fairly standard for an afterparty. You got your 3D rendered logo and accents, but then all that gets dilluted by the mashed text and the random last-minute add ins: the sponsors, the screenshots, the audience background...the website....

J-Pop Summit

Terrabyte III

Again, great work from San Francisco artist / producer Scott Hansen [obama poster]
